Oblivious after the Oak

I meant well... I was trying to get pictures of my beautiful oak tree--so glad it had survived the night before's 70-mile/hour winds. I had taken several "stills"--So, how did I get "video" for the last three shots?, you ask.

Can you say, "didn't have on glasses?"
Can you ask, "How many 'skeeters were biting as you shot?"
Can you say, "BLONDE?"

All excuses for not "paying attention". Sometimes such a mistake could be costly to your person, your car, your family, your soul. For example, when I don't "pay attention" in the kitchen and try to take a shortcut, I have burned myself or squealed as I sliced through the tip of a finger.

When I haven't "PA'd" while driving my car, I've missed exits and had to turn around a few miles up the road....uuuggghhh! There have even been times when I haven't "PA'd" and missed non verbals dear daughter gave and I should have delved more pointedly into her circumstances surrounding her day in high school.

And, finally, there have been times I'm going about my day not "PA'ing" to God's nudgings to be his hands, feet or voice--yet I didn't still myself long enough to properly respond. (This thought quickens me to the bone, knowing I must respond differently and more attentively, especially as it regards God's work.) Living is about today...and eternity.

My actions have missed opportunities to help guide someone to the most important information they couldl ever have...the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ, who gave EVERYTHING for me so I could continue relationship with him FOREVER! Lord, I pray you will continue to grow me and open my eyes to "PA" when You need work to be done. Give me a sense of understanding the funny side of my mistakes so I can laugh at myself and not be so "perfect"?! (ha ha, as if that were possible). AMEN

So, here's to laughing at trivial "mistakes"....you'll see some storm evidence, look for the swing--and, there's a "wonderfully flattering" upside-down nose shot!"

...1 minute 23 seconds of oblivion.

Where did you miss opportunity to share Jesus with someone this week by not paying attention to His nudging?
What is your latest mission for Christ's eternal reign?

Deuteronomy 7:12 If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers.
