HODGE PODGE

Here are my answers to Joyce's questions for this week's
1. Have you ever been 'asked' to report for jury duty?  Were you chosen to serve?  If not, were you happy or disappointed?
Yes, I've been called twice for jury duty...once I came close to serving...actually got into the courtroom and had to take questions from the lawyers.  I did not pass their 'want' list.
I enjoyed that day because I got paid...but the other time, I was just as  happy to go home and not have to be at the courthouse all day.
Here's to JOYCE...let us know how your jury adventures go this time.
2. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being very) how mechanically inclined are you? Give an example to back up your answer.
I am VERY mechanically inclined...scored in the high 90s percentile on my ASVAB for motor mechanics, yes, I did!  I've fixed computers, vacuums, changed the oil in my car and was even changing my headlights of my 280zx when I was 9 mos. pregnant with my daughter...now, that would have been a funny picture.
3. Beets-cabbage-cauliflower-butternut squash...of the four, which is your favorite fall vegetable?
BY ALL MEANS, butternut squash is my favorite...its nuttiness and nutrients are what I need...I love to roast them, tossed with olive oil, salt and pepper...or make soup...or make pastas...etc., etc.
4. What do you recommend to overcome self-pity?
Reading the Scriptures help get me back on track with my self centeredness...thinking on those enduring more, suffering loss, having less, help me get re-directed to helping or praising Him.
5. Do you enjoy classical music?
I'm one of those 'any kinders'...any kind of music; i am not a music snob...music theory and composition were favorites for me in high school...I especially appreciate the CLASSICS...and getting to study under Vaklov Nelhybel for a weekend was beyond any imaginings I had ever had regarding what it's like to be around a 'true composer'.  Debussy, Mozart...supreme
and John Philips Sousa thrown in kept my 'lip' always ready
6. October is National Book Month...what's on your reading list this month?
HEAVEN IS REAL is my latest...I just finished THE HELP (and saw the movie...so good)
7. What is your idea of 'cute' ?
Little, bitty yorkshire terrier or dachsund puppies take my breath away...
8. Insert your own random thought here.
It's been 22 years since this picture was made...wow...and I thought I needed to lose weight then...hahahahahah!  so sad.
