WAYWARD MOOSE INN…wayward we were

My husband’s family wanted to get away for Christmas this year…losing their mother in September left a big hole and the memories are every where in my sister-in-law’s home…so, off we went. 
Driving into the NC mountains to stay on top of one of them…at the Wayward Moose Inn and Guest House…

Everyone had their own room and bathroom, yippee!

After moving luggage, food and
decorations into the house, we decorated the tree and various spots around the main Inn…we had the entire place to ourselves.  Then…it was time for our first GAME NIGHT…Taboo, explaining people, places or things without using specific words…it was fun!

My room overlooked the valley in two directions…one set of windows to the East and one set to the West… awesome!

Our FIRST ‘touristy’ move was visiting Biltmore Estate…(the pictures on their website certainly beat mine) however I wanted to share a few because I have a very photographable collegGirl…isn’t she pretty beside the poinsettias?!

WAYWARD AS I took these shots ...before I knew there is supposed to be NO PICTURES inside the house...but, I didn't use flash, so I didn't break the biggest rule.

WAYWARD AS WE HUDDLED while DRINKING HOT CHOCOLATE AND LATTES:  It was 19* while we were there; and even though my hormones were raging, I got cold!  Can you believe it?! 

So…I bought a felt hat I just LOVE!  I can wear it six different ways…here’s one way…I was standing in the Conservatory hot house with all the orchids…I can do a complete post on just the flowers I shot























WAYWARD WHILE STOPPING TO TAKE A SHOT...THIS IS what you see as you drive by the Estate. They had candlelight tours going on with more than 3,000 people parading through the house; so they wouldn’t allow us to drive down the front driveway…this is as close as we could get.

OK, back to MY post...you're probably getting tired of my vacation pics; however, I'm re-living it each time post and write about it...I so want to go back.

I enjoyed every minute and would love to STILL be there. Join me in GOING THERE again to show you the remaining days of our vacation journey...what a blessing! We started the day shopping ... light-changing keyrings, shirts, and book bags from DEL SOL...california rolls, shrimp tempura & teriyaki chicken...shirts from Guy Harvey (so cute and beachy!). The girls enjoyed the beach again...wonderfully pleasant afternoon at the beach (almost empty), nice scenery and, of course, they enjoyed getting to talk the 'cabana boys'...oh, I remember those days.

As we were leaving for dinner, the sunset was gorgeous, AGAIN, and we wanted to stay on the balcony forever were STARVING and wanted to go eat MORE seafood…once home, it took me forever to figure out the fireworks setting on my camera and I creatively captured a few pics

the girls had A LOT of room on the beach and in the water...there was a little seaweed and some baby sharks!

cleaned up for supper…our courtyard was a jungle paradise.

can’t be in PCB without visiting Capt. Anderson’s…how about some babycrab claw appetizers, seared scallops, crab-topped grouper, sirloin and stuffed baked potatoes, virgin strawberry daiquiris and margaritas, yummo!

…when there’s a hammerhead shark hanging there, you just HAVE to kiss it!!



back to the condo…here’s the kitchen/dining room…

and the living room, where UNO and CONNECT FOUR were the games of choice, we also ENJOYED some book snoozing reading and SUDOKU :)

HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN, JIGGITY, JIG!!!

We've safely returned from a 7-day beach trip...

WHAT FUN!!!

WE SURE ENJOYED OUR 2-BEDROOM CONDO...HERE ARE SOME PICS FROM THE FIRST DAY :)

HERE'S THE VIEW OF POOL #1...EACH NIGHT THEY HAD FIREWORKS ON THE BEACH IN FRONT OF THE POOL.

I ENJOYED MY MORNING COFFEE WITH THIS VIEW EACH DAY...

THEN LATER, I WOULD MEANDER OUT ONTO THE BEACH TO SIT IN 'MY' CHAIR UNDER THE LARGE BLUE UMBRELLA...OUR CHAIRS WERE THE 7TH PAIR FROM THE LEFT

OUR FIRST SUNSET WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL SEND OFF TO SUPPER...WE WERE HEADED FOR J. MICHAEL'S FOR LOCAL SEAFOOD :)

THE GIRLS ENJOYED FRIED OYSTERS, I HAD A BOWL OF JAMBALAYA AND A GREEK SALAD AND HUBS HAD A CAPTAIN'S PLATE...AND SWEET TEA FOR EVERYONE (EXCEPTS HUBS...HE DOES THE UNSWEET/NO LEMON THING)
