Rather than reminding me of something to do, my PINs today are 'captured' dream memory from last night

...helps me gather my thoughts on 'dreams'.

These days of ‘empty nesting’ involves ‘more time to myself’…more time to try new things, such as Pinterest.

Browsing the world-wide web helps reignite many different "dream themes"…

One I enjoy a lot is capturing ‘fun’, university-related items for me or my daughter.  I'd like to do something creative with this poster...maybe 'hodgepodge' on an old window frame, etc.

Other dreams involve clothing...lots of clothing colors, arranging outfits, matching shoes, hats...what fun! First, a quick 'houndstooth' history lesson:

Houndstooth is sometimes called dogtooth; and when it's smaller, puppytooth. The Scottish originally named it after the jagged effect arising from the bite of a not-so-friendly canine while the French's Gallic translation of houndstooth is pied-de-poule – 'chicken foot'.  (There is a herbaceous plant found in Europe known as the houndstooth/dog's tongue/gypsy flower...it's to the right)

For the most part, the effect using ''houndstooth" patterns was signifying power over and above prettiness, which I think is wonderfully RELEVANT for a school's use with their football themes.

We can't be involved with the University of Alabama without 'houndstooth'...big, little patterns, on EVERYTHING...and in ANY color

Even 'nails' can host houndstooth these days...i just love these; and my daughter probably owns the instructions on "how to do" these nails (unbeknownst by me)

On my board for houndstooth I did find a need for breaking up the pattern a wee bit...so I added in this 'cute' and 'very important' remembrance from my fav book/movie this year...

GOT DANGLIES?...i'm just curioius

Today on the way home from having bought hubby's birthday present (which is just a few days away) I was sitting at a large intersection waiting on the light to turn green. [As I sit at redlights I often find myself daydreaming, sometimes singing to whatever music might be playing or deciding my position on whatever topic the talk show host might be discussing.]


Today was one of those daydreaming kind of days but something caught my eyes...those little hangy, down things on other cars' rear view mirrors. There were 6 other cars in the 6 other lanes I could see(each waiting on their light to change). ALL 6 had something hanging from their mirrors, I could make out lanyards with id's, air fresheners and handicapped placard...and some I couldn't tell what they were.

Personally, I don't want ANYTHING hanging down in my line of sight as I'm driving. Distractions are a BIG cause of accidents and these days I don't need anything to help distract me. There are many things people having hanging in their cars...and according to the following video, many things people DO with their 'danglies'e...so much so, Lukens @ Large/Channel 4 even did a piece on them...SEE Below:

Vancouver Dreamin'....

Our timeshare travel assistant called today...she's found a swap for our Palm Beach timeshare...she's booked us 5 days in VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA for this summer, yippee!  

We'll be talking about the possibilities and we have a 24-hour period before we have to say "yay or nay"...

Meanwhile, I'll be "Dreamin' about"...

...no housework for 5 days

...no menu planning, laying out frozen food, or cooking

...being out of the intense Southern heat in the summer

...taking pics and seeing new places...

such as Canada Place...With its 5 sails, you can

 walk all the way around on a pedestrian promenade...views across Burrard Inlet to the North Shore peaks and toward nearby 

Stanley Park as well as the older, low-rise buildings of Gastown, where 

Vancouver began.

...walking the seawall at English Bay
