UH OH…

ALL DAY YESTERDAY, I was reminding myself NOT to forget…

REMEMBERED TO SET the alarm clock last night

8AM CAME VERY EARLY after only sleeping 4 hours

LEFT THE HUBS A NOTE of my morning activities

PICKED UP COFFEE for the small group

LEFT A MESSAGE WITH MY C0-volunteer since I was running a little late BUT on my way

ANSWERED MY CELL QUICKLY when co-volunteer called me back…our date to serve it NEXT WEEK

uuuuuuggggggghhhhhhh

so, I had to find something FUNNY…to help my mood

What about this?

or this?

or this?

NEW WIDGET LOVE...'if i only had a code"

SOMETIMES it takes me a while to catch up with technology.  Each week after putting my pictures together for Projet 365, I would have to go back to previous posts, or get out my calendar, or count on my fingers in order to list the day of the year.

Finally, my brain figured there was probably a widget out there somewhere that might apply.  Yes, there was one, and it now resides on my sidebar.
Such a simple fix...thank you, Lord, for helping me discover this.

I wish all things could be 'fixed' by finding an appropriate 'widget' for those times in life when we've become impatient...just run the appropriate code through the 'brain' and 'wallah'!  Either the situation changes or my attitude properly adjusts to meet the code.

I'm beginning to understand, like Robin @ Be Still and Know, just how valuable an SD card slot for my brain would be...AWESOME!!

IT'S SUNDAY! GIVE IT A BREAK...

DEAR MR., MISS, MRS. OR MS. POLITICIAN,

GREW TIRED LAST MONTH during the first race but NOW have become very overgrown from your "robot" automatically calling my house ten to twelve times each day.

My machine is suffering from its own 'lengthy'-message overload while I choose NOT to answer anymore.

Maybe your 'picked-the-numbers-from-the-sky" surveys have given you some UNREALISTIC DATA about how much YOUR calls mean to the general population, so NOW you pay these 'tele-politeers' for their AUTOMATED CALLING SERVICES...possibly believing you'll get a vote in Tuesday's run-offs.

BUT.....
YOU'VE NOW STEPPED ON MY LAST NERVE...calling on Sunday afternoons and INTERRUPTING my Sunday afternoon naps! THAT IS NOT the way to get MY vote.

Having a week of sleepless nights behind me, I was SO LOOKING FORWARD to letting the lunch after church lull me into a nap...hahaha, what was I thinking, there's a run-off ahead which we should be spending all our extra time pondering!

The PHONE's ring has NOW INTERRUPTED me TWICE...it MAY get pulled OUT OF THE WALL if it rings again, Senator "rhymes-with-bUnterman!"

Hey, heres and idea for you: "I'll vote for you if you can get Political "robocalls" added to the United States National Do Not Call Registry."

I have another idea...hand over your home phone numbers--we'll see how many hormonal, tired-from-the-week-and-wanting-their-own-nap voters can call and INTERRUPT you! (They'd probably gladly give up their nap for the opportunity to talk to you.)

PROJECT 365...WK FOUR

sara_p365button09
CLICK THE 'PROJECT 365/A-PICTURE-A-DAY PIC to join us @ Sara's, who kindly posts the Mr. Linky each week.

Let it be known I HATE a certain photograph software...

it begins with a "K"...

it has been a pain ever since I installed in on my computer...

to say I'm frustrated is a GROSS understatement.

I have six pictures saved to my 365 file--I promise you, they are there...and 'something' will NOT let me insert them into today's post. Back and forth I went from file to post...NOTHING...I WILL NEVER buy another K* camera, EVER! NEVER!!

I'll try again next week...I had the following pics that K* shows in my file but WLWriter can't see...(can you see steam coming OUT of my ears??):

  • dd doing her OWN laundry...four loads last weekend, I think.
  • where BS&K and I had lunch on Wed...black&bleu ZALADs are AWESOME.
  • a gorgeous sunset of pinks, blues and purples sparkling through the limbs of my bare river birch tree
  • enjoying reading through 1,001 Things A TEEN Should Know Before Leaving Home (or Else They'll Come Back)
  • a WET Lady Liberty,on the street corner, holding an "INCOME TAX 678-985-xxxx" sign as she danced, jumped up and down, and shimmied as locals drove by in their cars. Do you have as many of these as we have on our local streets?

So, I'll be enjoying others' posting on 365 BECAUSE my pics didn't want to come out and play...lazy bums...slumbering like a KoDiAK bear...in their own little 'never-never land'!!!!!!!!

HEY, HOW YA' DOIN!?...CAN I HELP YOU!?

Had a physical today...yep, one of those wonderful things you just can't wait to do every three years or so. No eating past midnight, "step up on the scale, please"..."have you had water only since midnight?...I promise this tourniquet won't be on long...(five vials later, the REAL fun begins.)

"Everything off, the gown opens in the back"...(why are doctors' floors so cold??!!) But, fear not, as soon as I sat on the table one of my "tropical vacations" ensued and I can confirm I wasn't COLD the rest of the exam...(there are some miracle moments in life. )

Pinching, probing, listening, tapping, more listening, pushing, deep breath, hold it...golly, that stethoscope's cold, too! Mild heart murmur. (Not too bad.)
Lights in your ears, in your eyes, up, down, back/forth, every angle imaginable...follow my finger...all the way to the tip of your nose. (and they didn't stay that way, Mom!)

The hardest part was trying to pull information out of my brain to update my chart...with all the lasts...last EKG, last tetanus shot, last migraine, last colonoscopy, last chest xray. I had to really work to remember when those things took place, my memory seems to be in a little red wagon that I pull behind me (...sometimes things in it just fall out for no reason...sometimes it gets away from me and goes flying down the hill all on its own and I can't control it, especially in my dreams at night)...sometimes at night I just want to dump everything out of that wagon so it won't be racing around as I try to go to sleep.

Wow, when I want memory I can't find it ... when I don't want it, it won't turn off, it seems. Have you ever found yourself in that situation?
As life quickly moves along, I have to laugh in those moments when I struggle or "feel really old" and be appreciative of the knowledge that "this too shall pass" and I'll probably feel better later or remember whatever it was I was trying to recall. I just had to laugh when I piggybacked over to Charlotte's Weblog and found this...I just know I'm a member of this group...

"This one is not to be passed along TO others...it is to be TAKEN.
If you consider yourself eligible to receive the DORY AWARD, then by all means please take it and display it proudly on your blog!
And if you do, WELCOME to the DORY CLUB!
If you're not qualified to join, be thankful!"

In addition to the graphic award, I had to post an "audible" of Dory below...I must admit, this is one of my favorite movies of all time, and ELLEN did a "fan-tabulous" job on this part! So the next time you hear me saying "Can I help you?", or if I'm repeating, "P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney"; know I'm "having a moment"...and please be kind! : )

"HER"OPAUSE...'cause men don't have it

  • sit down, fan on; stand up, fan on; lay down, fan on ... see the pattern?

    • my car's air conditioner is set at 68 degrees...yet still I glisten

    • if there really were as many sheep as I've counted when I can't sleep, there would be no room for people on our planet

    • up to 10--number of times I've put my coffee cup in microwave to re-heat it and found it hours later when cooking dinner

    • used to keep the catsup in the pantry...so why did I find it in the freezer?!?
    • my head has bruises, my shoulders have scratches, my pinky fingers have bumps from banging, and my little piggy toes are lucky they've not be knocked off--all of which continue colliding with the doorframes

    • expect "Hey Big Spender" to start playing any moment now..."stripping " has become a daily event

wore my shorts backwards to a friend's house, the market, the gas station and then DH asked if I had run into anyone while running my errands

    • exercise has increased--climbing the stairs, again and again--to get "it", never can remember what "it" is

    • missed the exit off the highway, again...I do know how to get home, I do know how to get home, I do know how to get home

    • picking things up; dropping them; picking things up; dropping them; picking things up, dropping them...another pattern

    • laughin' so I don't cry...

    DIDN'T SEE IT COMING

I was just going over my daughter’s needs list one more time before I left the house to make sure I wouldn’t have to make two trips…gas prices, you know?!

I was just gonna pop into Kroger to pick up her few items before she had to pack her bag to go work on a local mission team.

I was just going a mile down the road and was in the car less than 5 minutes.

I was just going into the sliding doors at Kroger as I realized I had been pounced on by an evil, tiny, didn’t-see-him, couldn’t hear him, “skeeter”…an unforgiving little, which became BIG, blood sucker who bit me 9 times on the back of my calves and heels! He must be the size of a large tick by now with all the blood he must have harvested from the backs of my legs!

This forced me to walk faster around the corner and down the aisle to the pharmacy section where I grabbed a spray bottle of Bactine, seeking the cooling comfort of the benzocaine spray on the now puffy whelps on my “white as snow” skin. I looked like I had a sudden outbreak of chickenpox. : ( and, geez, was I itching.

I was just praying it was gonna work soon, ‘cause if you know me, you know I hate to “itch”…I’ve had eczema before and my skin doesn’t do well with scratching…scratching brings on large, red, raised skin that’s so appealing to anyone around me. I’m sure I looked like I had been flogged with a leather strap.

Skeeters, as we call them down here, are known as mosquitoes in other parts of the country…but that’s too nice a name for them here. They’re mean and aggressive…I put on tons of spray and they still find my “peaches and cream” complexion when I am outside in the summer, and they devour me like last weekend’s barbecued ribs. I associate them with the Evil One, who wants no good for us. (1 Peter 5:8-9 "Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up….So keep a firm grip on the faith.”)

I know it sounds sick but I get great pleasure when I see the exterminator driving through the county spraying for these little “suckers”…I sometimes want to go help them spray just to get some revenge on these little beasts. I have now been itching for four days...I'm scared to get back in my car for fear my needle-nosed friend has called in friends for another attack.

Speaking of real comfort, God is going to handle His rival in the end days, too (Rev. 2-:10, “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”)

Just think, there WON”T BE ANY “SKEETERS” in HEAVEN! Go, God!!!
