\0/ To His Praise...KATIE VIDEO ("Stinker Monkey" & Grandma MoMo!)

What an answered prayer came my way
when I checked Katie's care page today.
I have to celebrate it with you,
all my blogging buddies...who have been holding her up as she is fighting the horrible infection in her heart-surgery incision.
I love how she calls herself "munkin" later in the video...referring to herself as a "stinker monkey"...one of those little pet names she has acquired on this journey. This video will put a smile on your face, too...it sure did put one on mine :)
He hasn't left us and hasn't forsaken us, He is a God of promise, Jehovah Jireh, the Provider, our High Priest who intercedes for us; Yahweh Raffe, the great Healer...

yes, He IS our God of His Word...and as the following poem states:
A MAN OF HIS WORD
Look and you shall find the answer you seek
from Him, the Lamb of God, so loving and so meek.

And be you not forgetful to thank the Lord above,
for sending us a Savior, the essence of His love.

Seek out His kingdom first then and added unto you
will be His daily blessings, from dawn 'til day is through.

Share the joy you've found with other far and near
for your reward is in heaven and the path to Him is clear.

Remember all His blessings...His words you have heard,
give all your heart to Jesus, a true man of His Word.

("sleeping at His feet" is my subtitle
...i think it will always be my favorite :) p.s.: thx for continuing your prayers for Katie.

PROJECT 365 (days 3 & 4)

Project 365...still catching up from vacation

DAY 3

….aaaaaahhhhhhhh…
100_0599
…more sleeping reading. Heaven on earth--look @ that water!

100_0580 …we met little Gracie and Laney; they were next to us under the umbrellas—now, they REALLY enjoyed the beach!100_0582

my TRUE view (when I wasn’t on the raft, playing in the water on the float)…

100_0622b

isn’t it fun watching the fruits of labor…i loved this sailboat—that would be a great place to enjoy the water!

100_0619

…dd couldn’t let vacation interrupt plans to see the new “HPotter & the Half-Blood Prince”…new t-shirts and hoodies on, we braved the MIDNIGHT showing

JKRowling’s book came to life on the BIG SCREEN…it’s very TRUE to the book. Harry’s such a GOOD guy!

Advantages in a ‘smaller town’ for a midnight showing…

  1. 3RD in line
  2. best seats in the house
  3. only about 100 people there :)

100_0628b

7/15…

got in bed around 3:30am…slept late…enjoyed my lunch on the patio while sunning on the balcony…the more vitamin d the better…

100_0635

my ‘talked-to-5-in-the morning-teens’ “afternoon-risers” enjoyed the beach a little later in the day…(I was finishing ECLIPSE, and daughter couldn’t help but pick it up to sneak in a few paragraphs while I took pictures.

SMeyers is a good author, too. I’m hoping she’ll come out with another series that’s not ‘vampir-ish’. She’s got great imagination and pulls you into her stories. 100_0645 God’s beautiful sunset over the water…His beauty is like NO OTHER! 100_0648

100_0649

A decked-out dune buggy looking like the ‘Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech”!! (KathleenK & JonathanS…this one’s for you!)

100_0664
Another confirmation the flowers were enjoying the Florida weather, too!

Go enjoy others’ pics with Sarah … just click on her name

SLOW GOING ...but a little better

Posted 1 hour ago

Katie had a good night last night...received extra IV fluids yesterday.

Her left lung is very saturated with fluid around it--it is still a wait-and-see game for our next step.

Katie looks a little puffy and tired after yesterday’s ordeal on her body. We can’t really use the wheelchair easily now that she has a central IV line in her neck.

Our mornings in the step down unit typically start around 4 a.m. – when the “blood lady” comes.

An Atlanta Braves coach, Brian Snitker, stopped by and gave Katie an autographed hat and doll. She clearly said “thank you” , “sleep” and “bye bye.”

Thanks for your continued prayers for the fluid to 'go away' from around her lungs.

updated HEART SURGERY recovery...OUR little angel ^X^

Sunday, July 21...Posted 22
hours ago
Katie is begging for water b/c her diet and fluid intake has been extremely restricted--due to pleural effusion (fluid around the lungs)...still has a chest tube. The fluid loss remains a balancing act for the doctors – get her “dried” up but keep her hydrated just enough to not cause other problems...having to eliminate ALL fat from her diet. No fat at all. Thank goodness for fat-free menus...she's been enoying fat-free grilled cheese sandwiches. she is enjoying fat-free soy milk.
At home in the past, Katie only drinks water. Her new diet – and her desperation – is resulting in better eating and drinking of new products. She's drinking all of her formula by mouth...not using her feeding pump!!
She doesn’t seem to get happy at all, other than watching her Elmo videos. Thank goodness that the hospital’s library has every single Elmo video. Please pray for Katie’s pleural effusion to slow down and for her body to handle the changes. We are thankful for all of the prayers coming Katie’s way!
As you can see from the following, my little 'great niece Katie' is in surgery as I type this post.

To all my blogging buddies, please lifT her precious name to our Lord for His presence, His guidance for the doctors, His continuing to hold this precious child in His hand as she is going through this procedure.

My heart is full for her and her Mommy and Daddy(my nephew).

Ya'll are such wonderful prayer warriors
and I thank you in advance for lifting Katie
to our Steadfast YAHWEH, Adonai, God-Head Three-In-One!
Thank you, Jesus, for NEVER leaving us
or forsaking US
because YOU paid it ALL for us!

On bypass now...Katie is now in surgery. She was taken back at 7:30 a.m. It took an hour and a half to get the lines in and on the ventilator. It took more than hour to cut through the scar tissue to get to her heart. She was officially started on bypass at 10:45 a.m.
We are waiting for the next update to see how she is doing. Surgery is expected to take four hours from when it started. Dr. K* met with us briefly before the surgery started.
Katie was in really good spirits this morning. She was really active, talkative and fighting the sleepy meds. She finally fell asleep, but then woke up when they started to wheel her to the OR. She is a tough little fighter!!
Please keep those prayers coming!!
**UPDATE**2:35pm Posted 57 minutes agokatie came out of surgery at 1 p.m. dr k* said everything
went well...there were no complications...so far, so good. Her left ventricle seems to be working just fine, as pre-op. that is one of our top concerns. we're now waiting to go back to cicu to see her. it could still be another hour. god is good! thanks for those prayers!
***update***so far, so good4:30pmkatie is now back in the cicu....looks good, only slightly puffy at this point.expect she will be very puffy tomorrow.right now, her stats are on target...oxygen levels are 90-94! she is running a slight fever, which can be normal after surgery. they have placed a fan at her bedside and given her tylenol to try to cool her cool down. her blood pressure is good, along with her heart rate and she is breathing over the ventaliator at times. she has only two tubes draining blood from her chest.she has opened her eyes a few times and is moving her arms...the nurse gave her more knock out medicine so she won't wake up now.thanks again for all of your prayers throughout today!!

Project 365...

Joining Sarah for Project 365, Week 27...WOW! Time is FLYING...

On Tuesday...we had a treat when BS&K came to 'workout' for Phase 4...she brought along her dd and new granddaughter. Do you think my dd enjoyed the visit with this precious little bundle?
I KNOW she did...we loved hearing her goo, gaa, and babble when dd talked with her.

As many of you know, time off from work sometimes brings MORE work...and not any of the 'inside' type.

Hubs and DD got at it with the bushes....clippers in hand, electric hedge trimmer (which always scares me because I watched my Daddy have a VERY BAD DAY with one of those when I was about 10). Praise for no ACCIDENTS on this day...now we can see out the front windows without having to maneuver around overgrown branches.

Rarely do we have a 17yo available within ear-shot much less with a rake in her
hands...she's good at helping us when we ask her to pitch in and help with the 'fun'...and she doesn't complain while helping us with the really 'not-so-fun' stuff!

While I was in the house cleaning and re-arranging my kitchen countertops, putting away washed dishes and preparing clothes for dd's retreat, I popped a Freschetta bbq chicken pizza in the oven.

First thing on Saturday morning, I pulled down the bread machine and started an italian-herb loaf...yummy...with a little butter, of course! I wanted to have it with the 4th Celebration dinner...

We always love using our BIG GREEN EGG smoker for ANYTHING we're grilling. Today it was Thai-curry, marinated split-chicken breasts. Alongside was broccoli, baked potatoes, and Lima beans. Not that we had any room or anything, but there was home-made peach cobbler waiting patiently on the counter in the kitchen. (Beverly and BS&K just MADE me do it...thanks, ladies, it was WONDERFUL!!)

Praying EVERYONE had a great 4TH...fun with family and a blessed weekend!

and tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know."
