{real}
Wednesday afternoon, I planted my 2nd butterfly bush...I dislike Georgia red clay and sandstone...and it was 94* outside

{funny}

Tonight, Tried a new recipe for dinner: (saw Ina Garten making this today)...mine's tweaked a little from hers

layer tomato slice, lime slice, peeled/deveined shrimp, feta cheese, fresh-minced garlic on sheet pan

(mix pankow crumbs, fresh chopped parsley, 3 tbsp olive oil; mix and sprinkle on top of stacks)

bake 15 mins at 350*, then broil for 5 mins...served over fresh chinese egg noodles....hubs didn't care for it but i LOVED it...

Made this tonight after dinner...a preemie girl's sandal...multi-bright...it is tiny; compare it to the pins and that will give you a guage.

PROJECT 365...wks 19/20

Week 19 & 20.
Saturday, May 12 (we enjoyed attending a precious lady's wedding shower where we enjoyed holding friends' babies, opening presents and making bridal bouquets for the rehearsal.
Leaving directly after church on Sunday, May 13, collegirl and I headed to Nana's to enjoy Mother's Day.

WHILE VISITING MY MOM on Mother's Day, I took a picture of one of my collegegirl's baby pictures Nana has in a frame in her guest room...it's one of my favorites...

then we opened presents and too this shot in her den; she's moving gingerly these days due to a soar thigh...hopefully, she'll be feeling better soon.  You'd never guess she's 80.

Tuesday, we visited a pastor friend and his wife who recently welcomed their third child...a precious 6-day old little girl bundle...don't ya love newborn faces and toes?!!!  Precious babies who are learning to say "yes, ma'am".

THIS LITTLE PIGGY...luv me some baby toes!

It's not often I get to hold a little baby girl less than a week old...but this week was one of those special times when I DID get to snuggle a little bundle.

Too tiny to recognize anyone or really see anyone clearly at this point in her little life. Everything has to be done for her as she wriggles and coos. Her sleeping was peaceful as I held her, rubbed her velvety head, held her minuscule finger and kissed her tiny toes.
Who all will she get to play with as she learns the ropes from her older brother and sister?

What will be her favorite foods to eat when she learns about solid food and is no longer counting on Mommy's milk?

When will she understand the LOVE that brought her about, that watches over her, that knows every hair on her head and has a plan for her?

Why will she have to struggle through lessons that will in-the-end protect her?

Too many questions to answer for sure, but I KNOW WHO is watching over her, caring for her, and I am eager to watch her grow into the beautiful young lady she will one day be...twenty years goes by WAY too quickly, in my opinion.

Have you held any newborns recently?

FRIDAY FRAGMENTS #197

Mommy's Idea

@ 9:15am ...when I woke today

@ 9:45am ...poured my only cup of joe and flavored it with MOUNDS coffee creamer for some coconut goodness

@10:30am...ate some breakfast...while I knitted more on my 'lace' shawl, my first 'lacey' thing...it's been strange getting used to the 'looseness' of this piece, but the fibers are wonderfully soft cotton.  Believe I'm going to enjoy wearing this one to an upcoming wedding.

@11:55am ... watched a woman and her daughter win over $76,000 of prizes on PriceIsRight...wonder how many of their players actually go home with all their prizes (after they've paid all the taxes due)...have you ever heard?...will have to look it up sometime

@ 1:00pm ... finally sat down and transcribed my notes from Sunday School from the last two weeks...I'm sure the class will appreciate my getting off my duff and getting them done (so they'll have prayer concerns, etc., and get to study the Scriptures we covered

@ 2:30pm ... made a trip to 'TAR JAY'...hahaha...to get wedding showers gift, wrapping tissue, bags, cards...and a few things for the household cupboard.

@5:00pm ... handed off wrapping to the CollegeGirl and started pondering dinner...believe tonight will be seafood (pankow shrimp, fish fillets, broccoli/cheese, and tater tots) ... all going in the oven

WHAT FRAGMENTS did you have this Friday?

REVISITING the WEEKEND

My 1st time with this meme hosted by Gattina helping us remember what our weekends brought into our lives.
Saturday was a day of cooking, laundry, knitting and editing photos...
I can't seem to get a good moon shot with my camera for nothing.
I've been trying all kinds of settings
will have to do more internet browsing on using my manual settings, for sure.

Sunday was a day of 'special' worship...
1) celebrating our 20th year of providing DISCIPLE Bible Study for our congregation and visitors
  • grew with youth class
  • grew to mentor other local churches
  • grew to mentor Reynoso, Mexico community
  • grew to provide facilitator training for other churches
Lunch with 120 facilitators, administrators, classmates made for a great day of remembrance, thankfulness and eagerness for the next 20 years of God's blessings.

Our first Disciple director...we call her Mama Disciple

Disciple History

In March 1986...eighteen gathered in Flower Mound, TX, ... a dream of developing a Bible study for training Christian Disciples... DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY.

In July of 1989,..lives were being changed and churches renewed. A group gathered once again ... DISCIPLE: INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD with the challenge of going deeper into the Word and out into the world.

Another three years later...in December of 1992...Experience confirmed direction and congregations were ready to be confronted by the hard words of the prophets. The result - DISCIPLE: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE.

Finally, in 2001, the fourth and final study of the original DISCIPLE program was published. From Creation to the New Jerusalem – that was the promise and the vision. DISCIPLE: UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE was published and groups would study The Writings and Revelation. The journey was long and in-depth and would take congregations through the Bible twice.

2) celebrating those graduating from high school and/or college...several of these students were in small group my last year in youth counseling.  They've grown and I'm eager to see what their paths will be soon.
Great memories...bright futures.

HAVE BEEN UP TO...

Mommy's Idea
The rain woke me last night...so glad...we needed it!
Not sure my herbs outside will make it or not.  They've been pounded by the sun and heat over the last five days.

Laundry started after CollegeGirl woke up...didn't want the washer to bounce her awake.

Pizza from the freezer, not primo but it was ok...

then got intimate with the dishes in the sink...they feel better now that they're clean and drying.

Sheets folded nicely and tucked one of the pillow cases...I love clean sheets.

CollegeGirl off to meet a friend so I was off to use a 40% off coupon at "HobLob"...

used it to get a neat 'knitting needle' holder for my knitting bag...it has compartments for smaller objects, like markers, counters, scissors.

I also got four skeins of bamboo/rayon for half price...will be making a lace shawl out of two of skeins.

Remembered I had no greens in the house, so I hit "Publiximo" ... got a few buy-1 get-1-free items, lettuce, Advil, some side items and two cuban sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.
Anytime I can get out of the grocery store for under $50, I think I'm doing good.

Baked chicken, fettucine-brocolli alfredo and slaw for dinner...finishing the evening with watching some baseball and knitting...and a little blogging.

HOW was YOUR Friday?
