NOTHING LIKE LAP TIME
It was just like she had crawled up in my lap. I feel better now. Thank you, Jesus!
John 8:31 "If you continue in my word, then you are truly Disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
Blessings,

PROJECT 365...angels unawares?
I finished my 5-hour sweater (and it took me longer than five hours, hahaha)
4/22
God provided a 'bee one' opportunity today after church...and I'd like to present this award to my hubs (who took the opportunity 'to bee one').
Still unbeknownst to me, the man, his backpack and full shopping bag piled into the backseat. When I opened my door to get into the truck, my attention was caught by there being another person in the car.
So, what does one do when a stranger is sitting in their car unannounced?
Kindergarten manners kick in...
I reached into the backseat with a handshake and introduced myself.
(In my head, I'm thinking I might need to keep his hands busy because he might have a gun in that bag) :/
He said, "Hi, my name eez Patrick" in a muddled latino accent. His hands and skin were very worn, caked with old dirt, yet gentle. He repeated 'think you' several times before we left the parking lot. (I should be 'ashamed' was running through my head)
At the restaurant, he shyly took a plate from the buffet line ... returned to the table and ate two plates of food. He shared he's originally from Houston, TX but has fallen on hard times...having recently lost his home...and having been robbed of his wallet and credentials and no money to get them replaced. We mentioned a few things he could do locally to help get 'back in order' and he talked about a couple of 'labor' jobs he had recently worked as well as a local garage that had let him live in their back room so he didn't have to sleep on the street some nights.
He didn't eat any dessert, just meatloaf and spaghetti...and green beans. After saying goodbye to our other friend who had met us there, we drove Patrick back to the side of town not too far from where he said he needed to be. As he thanked us again and while closing the back door, I heard him also say, "Thank you, Jesus..."
God is wonderfully creative in offering opportunities...Patrick came into our lives quickly and was gone before we turned out of the garage parking lot.
Look for your 'opportunities' this week, okay?

WK 15/P365
COME ON OVER TO SARA’S and check out all our happenings from this past week…
4-9-2012 The beans we soooo good last week, I decided to go buy more, snap them and cook them down again…lovin’ the onset of summertime veggies.
4-12-2012 Finished the shrug for the little layette I had made…this DEFINITELY ended up MAKING the outfit…prayers for a soon-to-be-in-this-world babygirl!
4-14-2012
Family always brings some NEW laughs when we get together at birthday parties…my great nephew turned 1 and we gathered for a cookout birthday party. Here the great grandmas are showing their prowess at embracing the ‘birthday style’…
Thrifting brings many surprises…and I found this cute little lawn mower for BabyR…He loved PUSHING it as he made circles around the couch amongst all the BIG people…then he went outside and REALLY cranked it up. He can moved pretty quickly for a 1 year old…he started walking at 9 months
Nana was enjoying watching him scurry back and forth, but Pops was eager to give his eyes a rest.
BigSiterKatie was able to get LittleBrother to taste a bite…and he was soon ‘smashing it’ and having a grand ole time getting the icing all over him
ENJOY THIS WEEK…
and take LOTS of pics so we can see what you were UP to in your part of the world.

PROJECT 365–week fourteen
JOINING SARA…and the group for week ‘fourteen’…
3/31/2012 – CollegeGirl, her roomie and one of her nursing friends drove home to celebrate Skoot’s 20th birthday, and we enjoyed every minute.
In that it’s Easter week, I have to ‘re-post’ one of my favorite pics of ALL time…from when she was four and we were making ‘Easter bunny muffins’ that Grammy had sent in a large box. She was a little excited to open the oven
I made a double-chocolate cake that we all chowed down on after some wonderfully-smoked bbq chicken…then we played a game of PHASE 10…I miss the teenage laughter that comes with young people
3/31/12 – we took the girls to the ZOO…and to say they enjoyed it is an UNDERstatement…they really did have a fun time. They’re coming back so they can feed the animals the next time. Let’s call her “GingerA”…she absolutely LOVED the goats.
4/1/12
I took this shot on Sunday before they piled in the car to return to school.
4/4/12 – After my SweetHomeAlabamaGirls left, I got busy and finished the baby dress … only one more piece to go in the set…a little shrug.
4-6-12 – Not having anyone at home to slather in my normal Easter treats, I decided to make a batch of peanut butter shortbreads to give to my SmallGroupGirls (for coffee dunking). Next time I’ll use a little more brown sugar…they’re good but not quite sweet enough for my taste.
4/7/12 – Yardwork was in order…and what a beautiful day it was…in the 60s with a slight breeze. I had to trim back my roses, so the little cuttings I brought in to wait on their blooming.
Later that evening I stoked up the BigGreenEgg again and did another batch of grilled chicken and corn. (the best leftovers EVER!)
4/8/12 – We gathered with friends after church and drove about 20 minutes down the highway to enjoy Easter Dinner at Pappadeaux’s…we LOVE seafood and cajun food…some of the best!
BS&K’s family joined us out on the veranda before heading into the restaurant where crawfish, shrimp, fried soft-shell crab, and stuffed crab were enjoyed with some great sweet tea.
