YOU CAN'T SEE HER LITTLE WINGS IN THIS PICTURE BUT SHE DOES HAVE TWO LITTLE DAINTY ONES ON HER BACK. (I STILL NEED TO CHECK THIS ONE ON LINE...SHE HAS MARKINGS, AND I BELIEVE SHE MAY HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE 40'S)
THEY ARE NOW ENJOYING SITTING WITH THE PLANTS.  THIS MAKES THE 4TH TIME MY HIBISCUS HAS BLOOMED SINCE I BROUGHT IT IN FROM THE COLD..THEY'RE SURELY LIKING THE SUN COMING IN FROM THE WEST

FLASHBACK FRI...A TOTAL WRECK

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance @ my giveaway here...

TODAY WE'RE thinking
primarily of our growing-up years of DRIVING:  Around the age of 24, a driver in front of me had stopped.. then started again when merging onto an expressway.  Suddenly she STOPPED AGAIN!  No one was coming from the left but my foot had already gassed it before seeing her tail lights. Crunch!  There were no cell phones to call the police.

The first traffic ticket?  Oh, it was about 50 feet passed a stop sign in front of my boyfriend's church, hahahah!  Truly.  Being sixteen and having my Mother in my passenger seat actually made it easier.  She agreed I had stopped, but the 'new recruit' policeman said,
'Young lady, Did you realize that was a real stop sign you just ran?  You did not make a 3-second, 4-wheel stop?'
He made that statement just after tapping on my window with his 'billy stick'...yep, to get me to roll down my window.
"guess I looked back a 'gang banger' in my silver-blue Beetle with my Mother."     (he didn't show in court; the judge gave me a warning and $25 court costs.)   So there, Mr. Rooky, sir.
One of our youth was killed a few years back in an fiery highway accident with a transfer truck.  This changed many lives in many ways, and we will never forget him...

(He was so sweet and helpful...always my 'strong arm' helping with boxes of pizza or other food.)
Before babygirl was born, we witnessed a motorcyclist t-bone a car (who ran out in front of him), flying over two cars and landing in front of us.  Thankfully, Hubs was a 'Red Cross' first responder and knew exactly what to do...holding the cyclist down until the ambulance got there.
(The really scary part:  He had just dropped off their 5yo daughter at grandpa's house before getting hit).
Seat belts weren't involved in riding in a car until my teen years.  I would roll myself up in a ball in the backseat floor board, listening to the tires on the myriad of pavements as we would traveled to Florida for family vacations.

(Maybe I need to do that on hormonal nights when I can't sleep; maybe hubs would be willing to drive me around while I lie in the backseat floor board!)
Come join in at MOCHA WITH LINDA...I want to hear your adventures.

Short and sweet

Leave me a comment between now and Sunday, 2/20

so I can draw for the GIVEAWAY...

I'm thinking it will be one of my 'creations':
could it be a 'prayer cloth'
or a 'shawl'

or 'some fingerless gloves'
or a 'thrifty' find?
Not sure yet, but I'll know when I post the winner.

CELEBRATING BeStill&Know

Three years ago today, 2/14/2008, she started sharing with the world-wide web of readers (those close by and most from around the world).
She jumped into this new medium as a ‘need to escape’…but I believe it more came from her love of journaling.  A journaling helping focus His ‘looking glass’ of self realization through His Scriptures.  Today, she posted a GIVEAWAY to celebrate her blogging adventure...I love giveaways, don't you?

(Psalm 62:9 “Common people…a puff of wind….lighter than a breath of air.)  I’m blessed because our puffs of breath are intertwined as friends and as blogging buddies…blessed in sharing the unfolding of God’s plan.  Her 'blogging' intrigued ‘the writer’ in me to ‘jump’ down that same rabbit hole to see what existed in the ‘land of blogging’.  Go read what insight she’s sharing today, you might decide to 'jump' down the blogging rabbit hole…and you can put your name in the pot to WIN her GIVEWAYJust click it!

FINDING THEIR ADULT...mommy moments

When they're babies, it's hard to believe they'll one day be an ‘adult’.  They each want to grow quickly...to make personal choices and be on their own (even before knowing about paying the bills and earning money).
 mommy moments
Dear Christian Daughters/Sons:
Throughout the years, limits and consequences SEEM like punishment, but it's really protection and teaching, deciding consequences, and struggling when guiding tightly or loosely.

Your daily decisions can be like looking down into the ocean, seeing a blur of activity and not seeing the dolphin until it’s close to the surface...out of the depths and suddenly in your face.

Youth obliviousness will transform into adult awareness gradually through little and big choices.  Each choice chisels away unveiling you, striking deeper into your reality:  moment by moment choosing grace and truth
or
choosing evil's temptations, accepting his guise of fun or “it’s just one time”

Praying God protects through any poor choices while sending GREATER blessings through good and right choices.  He and His Words, His Sacrifice, His Resurrection and Eternal Relationship is our gift through His Grace.

Desiring God’s BEST is what I desire for ALL new adults...God’s guidance in every decision.
LOVE you ALL,

Psalm 22:30
”As the word is passed along from parent to child. Babies not yet conceived will hear the good news— that God does what he says.”

Psalm 103:6 “As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him. He knows us inside and out”
