Thank you, Lord: You will care for those impacted by the storms; May we show them your Love.

Prayers for all of Alabama (as responders search give strength, provide easy access for all who might be trapped, and build their communities back to become even better).

WEDNESDAY's THISnTHAT

There's something VERY SPECIAL about getting to spend time with Christian Women who love the Lord first.

We've studied,
cried,
laughed,
nibbled on snacks,
and greatly discussed His Words for the past 30 weeks.

Today we enjoyed a late-morning brunch at a member's home.

We're discussing how/when we will be getting together again.

...another Bible study?
...an on-going 'game/coffee' morning?

We haven't decided yet, but it will be SPECIAL and CHERISHED, whatever we decide.

Thank you, Lord,
for blessing me with their sweet smiles, spirits and company throughout our class this year.
Amen & Amen

BIG, BLUE EYES AND BRIGHT-WHITE HAIR

Missing my Daddy...
He died 21 years ago today, just shy of his 63rd birthday
...there are times when it feels like yesterday.
There are times when it feels like 'forever' ago.

I was not with him when he died, but my Mother was.
He had collapsed from dehydration in the middle of the night.
Mother and Granny transported him to the hospital to get fluids.

He did not want to go into the hospital again, even for fluids...
he died as they were entering the hospital.
He was always stubborn in his own way, hahahah!  He would laugh at that, too, if he were here.

Love you, Daddy...

"you're in my heart, your in my soul, you'll be my breath when I grow old..."

Your babygirls will love you forever and always cherish your love for us and what you taught us throughout our lives.

PROJECT 365...wk XVI

Project 365 - Week 16

joining Sara and group for another week...

4.10 (no pics ...)
4.11  My nephew and his wife have a new son...he is precious.  I'm so eager to get to meet him.

4.14  Leftover chicken meant 'salad'
It was great on a seedless rye sandwich...

4.14.11: little bit got to go home, and his big sister is LOVING having him there ;)
4.16.11:  weather has been a 'booger' lately...Moms don't like seeing these kinds of maps when their child is in the same vacinity.  Makes me want to 'go get her'.  But, God was watching over her and trying to calm her nerves.

Prayers go up for the families of 7 people who died in this storm, so sad.
Hope you have a blessed week; and I'm praying for no more storms.

Blessings,

HODGE PODGE WEDNESDAY, vol. 22

joining JOYCE @ THIS SIDE OF THE POND for wednesday hodge podge...

HODGE  PODGE

QUESTIONS

ANSWERS

Rather talk to everyone at a crowded party for a short time
Or have a significant conversation with two people?
I would prefer to have a significant conversation with family and friends; time is fleeting

What objects do you remember from your parent's living room?
·        Mother would always play her high-back piano
·        Green sculpted carpet
·        Pleated drapes Mother made
·        Amber-colored glass rooster on her formal end tables
·        bookcase , front foyer, world book encyclopedias, family bible and bible story books

Do you hog the bed…steal the covers? Snore?
We both snore…but I’m loudest…hold your applause…I HATE it.

My favorite way to cook lamb is:

Grilled/smoked with BS&K’s
apricot sauce, mmmmm!

Where is your birth certificate?

When was the last time you produced it to prove you're you?
Safe deposit box; had to secure a certified copy for my passport a couple of years ago…what a hassle…had to go 3 different times to get it…I believe I posted about that nightmare

As a child, how did people describe you?
big-blue-eyed toe headed ballerina…hair white as snow; I always walked around on my tip toes

What do you complain about the most?
‘horring’ mones, or the lack thereof…this is the worst experience of my entire life b/c it is unforgiving

My random thought:

The most ridiculous fight I ever had with a family member:
A close family member (won’t specify which one)...anyway, this person got MAD at ME for being angry at MYSELF (they were tired of hearing me let my emotions out about another ‘stupid’ thing I did b/c of these ‘horring’ mones)…moan, moan, moan, I try NOT to do this to myself, but there are only so many repressions you can hold in and be somewhat healthy.

GENTLEMEN STILL EXIST...

I LOVE enjoying the quest for the GREEN JACKET for the winner in the Masters Golf Tournament @ Augusta National every year.

I've enjoyed watching it since I was a kid and my Daddy always watched it.  He would explain things to me but I didn't really care then...it wasn't the art of the sport that intrigued me when I was younger.

However, now it is a different story.
Hogan Bridge Augusta National Golf Club
I LOVE playing it, watching it in person, watching and listening to it on TV until all the wonderful birds, galleries watching expectantly, and TV hosts whispering drifts me off to sleep.
There is NOTHING like the sweeping swish of the golf club on the drives
or
the clicking of the ball when it reaches the bottom of the cups on well-hit shots
or the feeling I get when I'm  the person doing either of the two things previously noted.
Augusta National Golden Bell
Do you enjoy a sport?
update: 5 golfers, tied for first place @ -10 on the back nine...amazing, simply, amazing.  What an interesting final round!

THRIFTY THINGS FRIDAY here's to the little guys

Thrifty Things Friday joining Diann and they others @ THE THRIFTY GROOVE and Cindy @ MY ROMANTIC HOME for

If you've been visiting here, you KNOW I'm a 'thrifter'...not to be confused with a 'drifter'

(although I do drift from one store to the next to find the BEST deals...but I do pay for things and don't beg).

I especially LOVE finding anything under a buck, a dollar, one hundred pennies; however you want to say it.

My cutest (and least expensive) find this week originally sold for $7.99 (the one I found still had original price tags under the plastic covering).

A little bluebird bird feeder for my backyard...gradually I'm getting more and more species of birds visiting each day.

my purchase price was $.50, 'fitty' cents, half a dollar, 5 dimes...hahaha!

He will help me feed the 'little' birdies in my yard...finches, warblers, etc.  He was easy to prepare...took an apple, slathered it with peanut butter and rolled it in bird seed.

Then stuck the provided skewer down thru the top of the little wooden bird, thru the seed-covered apple and into the hole at the belly bottom of the wooden birdie.

I've already had two different finches and one hummingbird peck on it...the squirrels are confused by it because it swings easily and they can't get hold of it...YEA!!!!!

Eager to see your finds this week ... Come join us @ Diann's!

 Blessings,
