We just went through all of this a little over a year ago before our twin girls headed off to college. It's a scary, overwhelming time, but exciting as well. :)

What an incredible adventure lies ahead for ALL of you! The whole "nest leaving" episode from my own life story still makes me laugh, and weep. I loved it that the fledglings were growin' and goin' ... but my heart (which I thought I'd prepared well) felt so empty. It took a while to adjust, but boy did I adjust!

Nobody told me how cool is post-child-rearing.

It's cool!

Ahhh, looks like a fun trip! Our son just went to the college in the next town. Did check out a few schools with the daughter and she's ended up attending three, but none that we had visited. LOL She spent a year at Word of Life in Florida, two years going part-time at the community college, and now she's finishing at Grace in Winona Lake, IN.

Exciting time, but hard too. On the flight home from Florida after leaving her at Word of Life, I cried the entire three hours we were in the air. I was sitting next to a young lady who probably thought I was some kind of mental nut case. LOL Am SO thankful for cell phones (then) and our Vonage phone (now)! We talk just about every single day :-)

Look at you - all poetic and creative and stuff! LOVE it! Love the pics too - they will be a treasure someday.

I, myself, am praying that Jesus comes back before it's time for my girls to go!

I like Beckyjomama's comment. I want to keep my youngest ones home till Jesus comes!!! It's just way too sad to watch them mess-up, choose the wrong path, etc., etc., etc. Life is hard for young people. The lure of the world is so great. This is the best part:
LORD,
MAKE YOUR PATH KNOWN.
PROTECT HER IN HER NEW FREEDOM
KEEP YOUR ARMS AROUND HER EVERY MOMENT.
LET US FOLLOW YOUR LEADINGS,
REVEAL THE DECISION.
But -- on a "here-and-now" note ♪. . .
Love the Haiku! Pretty much says it all. Much emotion there.

I am so honored that you signed my guestbook. And I have no idea #1 how you found it. (I took the link off my sidebar over a year ago when the 'Followers' widget came about.) & #2 how to delete your double entry!! I'd completely forgotten I even had a "Guestbook!" And can't remember the password to edit it. But I'll look into it.

I have another year before our oldest leaves the nest. I have already started thinking about it though. Great work.
