MY "FRIDAY FIVE"

Quilly had this Five Word Meme on her blog and invited others to play; she sent me five words.

1.) Coffee ... I drink it most often with ice (now that I'm enduring hot flashes, excuse me, many personal tropical vacations each hour...a tall, iced coffee is hard to beat...oOnly one cup a day though.

2.) Rain...(click the pic for a BIGGER VIEW)...we've prayed for it so long. Now we have more of it than our land can takeFlood90b

...the disaster throughout Atlanta is definitely a site I've never seen in person. Hubby worked the Missouri floods several years ago as a disaster specialist with the American Red Cross and he brought home pictures that looked like these, but I never imagined it would every happen here. Thanks for any prayers you can send our way, and or any money you can send to the Red Cross to help with this tragedy.flood09d

3.) Closet: I need to clean several of these out sometime soon...I don't need to 'come out' of one...and I've never been locked in one, thank goodness!

4.) Furniture: When I think of furniture, I think of all the 'stuff' I have that I can't stand came with hubs when I married him 20 years ago. We don't like the same kinds of furniture taste, except a couple of antiques he had from his grandmother. This has made decorating a pain in the patooty next to impossible. I could throw out EVERTHING in my bedroom and never give it another thought.

5.) Handwriting: My handwriting was ruined once I went through four years of shorthand in high school and college...I can write 110 words a minutes in shorthand but now my script handwriting has no consistency. I often look at others' handwriting and wish it was mine. The good thing: I can take down every word of a sermon or speech and then greatly ponder what was said...it comes in handy for Christmas lists, too!

Blessings,

Very well done! I really wish I had your ability to record a sermon. My notes make sense to me when I take them, but if I don't sit down and flesh them out right away, a few weeks later they often make no sense at all.

Thanks for playing. Since I didn't originate this meme, there's not Mr. Linky, but a lot of folks have played through my blog. You can find them in the comments. They're the ones who asked for words.

I hope that this finds you safe and dry. I had no idea that you lived there!! Prayers being sent up for you and everyone there.

Coffee with ice? YUMMY! Like you, I try to stick to cooler things these days...like a ceiling fan on me at all times.

You had left a message about the Southern Belle planter. I will be listing that one that you asked about in about five minutes. Yes, it is for sale still.

Stay safe!!!

I haven't decided if your words were easier than the ones she gave me or not! LOL You did a great job with them!

1. personal tropical vacations each hour.....LOL!!! I will have to use this with my next hot flash!

2. Atlanta is much worse off than we are in AR, but I think because it goes right into the river here.

4. I took short hand in HS too and still use it some times, but can't remember enough to take down a sermon. that is impressive!

do kids these days even know what shorthand is?

I hope you are staying safe and dry. Flooding really scares me, it can get so bad so fast.

I didn't take shorthand, but I have my own system and it works. LOL Rob and I don't have the same tastes in furniture either. We have his parents bedroom furniture, it was passed on to us after they both passed away. I would love to sand it down and re-do it. It could use it, very well worn. Rob flips everytime I mention it though.

Have a great weekend.

One of my favorite things is to watch you scribble through a sermon...

Those pictures break my heart. We've lived through several hurricanes; Floyd forced our evacuation from our front lawn in a boat. Believe me when I tell you...

I fully understand this one.

Prayers.

I can't believe those pics of Atlanta! I never watch t.v. and haven't seen the pics until these. Terrible!

You did great on the five word meme. I like this one. Someone recently gave me five more words to do- really hard words.
