"Stage Presence" & ABCs of the Word...

ABCs of the Word is being hosted by:

Last night I heard ADAM LAMBERT

Did you get a chance to hear his rendition of "The Tracks of My Tears" on American Idol last night? I remember the original version written and sung by Smokey Robinson ...we'll not mention just how long ago that was, ok? "Outside I'm masquerading/Inside, my hope is fading"...wafting through the airwaves falling softly on my a whole new way...his re-make gave this song a "new life".

Were you as surprised as I was by this performance and appearance tonight?! ... Previously, he has mainly shown his "rockin' " prowess, edgy hairstyle and black-painted fingernails.

You know, when looking at his previous Idol pics, Adam and I share the same looks better on him!

...and I don't paint my nails black... and goodness knows I don't have the same singing talent.

Last night I was 12 again...kinda swooning-- the way I once did when Donny or David Cassidy would sing their solos!

His stunning ability to "morph" into his songs and their genre is breath-taking...
I felt like I was looking at an entirely different person...WOW!

One word is too small to convey this young man's GOD-given ABILITY to CANTILLATE, CROON, or ROCK OUT.
Whatever word you use, it's apparent he's worked hard and fine-tuned an "AMAZING" gift... in his voice & stage presence...
In whatever language you prefer: sorprendente / italian; einmalig / german;asombroso/spanish; or 깜짝 놀라게 하기 / korean...God has given him an AMAZING talent !

Each of us can often change, shifting shadows. We can manipulate our appearances, our demeanor, our commitment levels even.

Unfortunately there are manipulations, deceptions all around us....especially on television...fooling the world.

But, our Lord does not change...does not shift...He is the rock, He is steady, He is creator, provider of every good and fruitful thing!

He knows our "real" hearts, our "true" intentions, and recognizes us even when we think we've "fooled the world".

Lord, Help us each recognize what You do in our lives;

Give us Your steadfastness to do Our Father's Will.

Give us the "stage presence" to stand up for Your truth as we "take each curtain call"...

seeking Your face in everything we do...

using our Hands and Feet to praise You and work for God's kingdom!

Amen & Amen...Let it be so!!

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Good morning and thanks for joining in...this weekly scripture meme has blessed me so much. "He does not change like shifting shadows"---hmmm, good one to ponder.

He is indeed gifted. He's in the press a lot right now for being controversial. I'm staying away from the topic!
Way to go on the first day of 30 x 5. You inspire me!

I love this verse and I quote it quite often.
Adam is indeed talented. I DVR'd the show last night so I haven't seen his performance yet. He is so theatrical I wonder if that will come back to bite him in the end. He owns the stage whenever he steps onto it...

"CANTILLATE". My kinda word!

I don't watch Idol. I have my reasons which I won't get into here. Some of them do have a lot of talent though.

I don't watch Idol, so I'm hopelessly uncool in the area of crooning, rocking out, and *Cantillating*....although I totally appreciate that excellent word!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, by the way. Nice to meet you!

i fell asleep during the first matt's performance so i missed it.

naps definintely fall into the "good and perfect gift" catagory! :)

I just can't decide if these thunder thighs are from God...or McDonalds.

Didn't get to watch Idol last night - didn't know it was on last night until after I got back from my Bible study!

I left you an answer to the Wii question on my blog. Thanks for stopping by!

I've hosted a few different looks over the years. I can put it on as easily as take it off. My desire is to be as transparent whenever I'm on stage as when I'm off. Great post, friend.

For the record, I could do without the guy, but you're right, he's been gifted with an amazing talent, and to be able to "switch it up" is incredible. I personally like the shorter guy with the guitar...can't think of his name, but he's always been my favorite.

We'll see how it goes tonight.

I remember the original version of "Tracks of My Tears" also...loved that song. I'll just take your word for it that Mr. Lambert did a good job with it :-) I appreciate anyone with vocal talent since that's definitely not one of my gifts.

Neither is art, as I'm discovering in class. I'm only understanding about half what the teacher explains, so obviously I'm missing some important stuff. (I prefer to think that's the problem rather than me not having any artistic talent whatsoever. LOL)

It was a sweet performance wasn't it? And yes, every perfect gift is from above.

We really liked his new look and singing style also. He looks so much better (in my opinion). I was disappointed last night when he had returned to his old look. He is good though. But, we're pulling for Scott MacIntyre who is a member of our church. He and his family lead our worship occasionally so we were thrilled when he became a contestant. We never watched American Idol much before this season. Now we don't miss it and I have the phone handy to call in my vote as soon as it's over. LOL

I didn't see American Idol, and now I wish I had!!

Every GOOD and PERFECT GIFT is from above--He is never changing, never shifting, always faithful.

I needed to remember that today!!

Thanks so much!!

Your similar hair cut slayed me!! But you are right!!
I think it is darling on you. I love short, edgy cuts on women. LOVE them.
Yes, I ,too enjoyed Adam's performance immensely. Uber-enjoyable.
