RANDOM DOZEN, week 8 QUESTIONS THOUGHTS | |
1. Have you ever fired a gun or shot a bow and arrow? | My learning curve: a bow @19, a pistol & rifle @ 23, and a 4-ft blow gun @ 33 Psalm 38:1 “Take a deep breath, God; calm down— don't be so hasty with your punishing rod. Your sharp-pointed arrows of rebuke draw blood; my backside smarts from your caning.” |
2. Do you know where your childhood best friends are? | I know where they are, chat on FB but rarely get to see them L Amos 5:14 “Seek good and not evil— and live! You talk about God, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies, being your best friend. Well, live like it, and maybe it will happen.” |
3. Do you usually arrive early, late, or on time? | Usually I’m on time; though since hormonal struggles loom I don’t fret so much about it. |
4. Are you more of a New York or California type? | Speaking from a weather perspective: love me some southern California specifically in the OC…but New York coffee and fresh bagels can’t be beat…there I go, being indecisive again. |
5. Do you have a special ring tone? | Even though my ringer is on silent A LOT b/c I’m one who REALLY doesn’t want to interrupt church, or a meeting, or a personal conversation …when I’m out and about shopping or away from home expecting updates from my teenager, it’s turned up to HIGH…giving a unique opportunity to enjoy music, receive a call and WITNESS… so mine is: the chorus of TAKE IT ALL by Hillsong United… “Jesus, we're living for Your name, Take, take, take, it all!” |
6. What is your favorite type of chip? | Cheddar Soy Crisps then KETTLE COOKED Cape Cod Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper…you actually didn’t think I could choose JUST ONE, did you? |
7. Best comedy you've ever seen is .... | Anita Renfroe @ Women of Faith…here’s a sample (YOU RAISE ME UP...below questions) |
8. Have you ever cut your own hair? To quote Dr. Phil, "How'd that work for ya?" | Many times I’ve cut things on my own: the grass, the hours DD can stay out on a date, the cheese when there were no dairy products in sight, hubby’s hairline on the back of his neck, and MY hair…with my short style I can trim my front angles and get an extra 3 weeks before a formal cut…helps a girl’s pocketbook, a little |
9. If you were going to have an extreme makeover--your house or your person? | Not that my hair, face, body, teeth, skin, and nails don’t need one, but hubs and I have trouble finding central ground on this one--a designer’s opinion would be a great way to go |
10. Are you allergic to anything? | Used to be allergic to walnuts, yet recently discovered it has disappeared—made me happy! “Dust” appears to be my biggest nose enemy by encroaching on me no matter HOW MUCH I clean, wipe, dust and HEPA vacuum…it WON’T go away even though I try to make it disappear. |
11. Why is it so hard to change? | Many changes are hard, yep, next to ‘ne’r gonna happen’: CHANGING ketchups is out-of-the-question in THIS house, hubs requires HEINZ; CHANGING the toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags is so challenging only the most-qualified person in the house can EVER seem to get it done (what? Me, complain?); CHANGING my $20 bill is next to impossible…DD borrows them quite often and their remnants rarely make it back into my clutch (does everything cost $20 now?) Yet, CHANGING my clothes happens more now than ever before…hot flashes bring on ALL types of new reactions and conditions (‘nuff said, I’ll let your imagination fill in these blanks) |
12. Dedicated to February love: CS Lewis said, "To love is to be vulnerable." Please share one example or share any thought you'd like about this topic. | Shared joy is a DOUBLE joy; shared sorrow is HALF a sorrow. |
